In association with Iles Tours, enjoy a half day walking tour around Newcastle where you will experience two thousand years of history, discover the city’s inventions and the people who invented them.
 
Starting as a Roman fort and growing to become one of the major cities of the English Industrial Revolution, Newcastle has a fantastic story to tell. You’ll hear all the best bits on this guided walk while visiting many of the city’s most significant sites including the Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas and Newcastle’s Castle – both parts of the historic core of the city.
This tour is a great way to immerse yourself in the history and sights of Newcastle, and to discover how the city has changed the world.

The walking tour lasts approximately 3.5 hours with your final stop being an award-winning three course dinner, wine and coffee at the oldest purpose-built restaurant in the UK, Blackfriars, a former 13th century Dominican friary.

WHERE: Meet at Earl Grey’s Monument

TIMES: 1pm, any day Monday to Friday; dinner ~6pm (note: not available throughout December).

COST: £110 including Iles Tours tour of Newcastle, entry into both the 
Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas and Newcastle’s Castle (discounted to £75), plus a three course set early weekday evening dinner, half bottle of house wine (or equivalent local beer or soft drink), and coffee (for £35).
