Whilst commonly used ingredients include sesame oil, fermented bean paste, soy sauce, salt, garlic, ginger, pepper flakes and fermented red chilli paste, it’s the salted and fermented vegetable preparation of kimchee such as napa cabbage which seems so ubiquitous to Korean meal times. Whether beef, chicken, pork or seafood, serve a bit of fermented goodness to raise it to a whole new level.

For home cooks who want to take their cooking to the next level, these group sessions give you a taste of the subject, allow you to go at your  own pace whilst cooking with like-minded individuals in a communal environment and are designed to give you experience, skills and confidence in the kitchen.

Cucumber Kimchi
Kimchi Stew (kim-chi-jji-kae)                                  
Pressed Pork (dwae-ji-go-gi-pyeon-yuk)                         
Braised Pan-Fried Bean Curd (du-bu-jo-rim)                 
Cold Noodles (guksu-nan-guk)                              

Enjoy an evening preparing these delicious dishes to eat around a communal table at the end of the night with your new found friends! These courses are designed to be relaxed, informative and fun.
WHERE: Blackfriars Cookery School

TIMES: 6-9pm

COST: £45 per person per evening/£229 for a six week block which includes all your food produce, refreshments and meal to take home. Payment upon booking. Places are only confirmed once paid in full and are non-refundable or transferable.

WHAT TO BRING: Aprons can be borrowed though please arrive in comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit messy. And bring your enthusiasm!
