Bringing Spices to Newcastle

On Sunday 24th November, Blackfriars will host, in conjunction with Durham University's IMEMS: 'Bringing Spices to Newcastle': an interactive experience workshop on medieval food culture featuring new research on medieval recipes for food and drink, and the role of spices from China and Indonesia in European and English gastronomy. Hosted by Giles Gasper, Professor of History at Durham University and Blackfriars owner Andy Hook. This is open to all members of the public.

WHERE: Blackfriars Cookery School 

TIMES: 10am

COST: £25 per person including arrival tea or coffee, a spicy talk and a hands-on interactive food workshop culminating in a suitably medieval set lunch served communally. Spaces are limited so book your place now!
