Bread Making for Beginners

Saturday 7th July

Proper bread should be made from just flour, water, yeast and salt - and nothing else! Our bread-making courses follow this ethos using locally-milled stone ground flours to produce wonderfully delicious and nutritious bread.

On this course, you’ll learn the basics of real bread from our master baker, make up to four different loaves - savoury and sweet - to take home and hopefully never go back to shop-bought bread again! All dough is hand kneaded. These courses are designed to be relaxed, informative and fun.

WHERE: Blackfriars Cookery School

TIMES: 9.30am to 4.30pm 

COST: £99 per person which includes refreshments throughout the day, a set three course communal lunch (including vegetarian option) with wine in the Cookery School, your own apron, breads and recipes to take home. Payment upon booking.

OTHER DATES THIS YEAR: Saturday 1st September & 3rd November.

FRIENDS & FAMILY: are welcome to join the participants for a three course lunch, a glass of wine and coffee for just £26 per person. WHAT TO WEAR: Aprons are provided though please arrive in comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit messy. All dough is hand-kneaded.

EQUIPMENT: Blackfriars recommends Bakery Bits for the serious home baker and Nisbets Catering for equipment.
