Blackfriars unwraps its new Christmas offerings

Blackfriars Restaurant brings glad tidings for the festive season this week as it unveils its Christmas menu and gift packages.

Luxury Christmas Hampers

Blackfriars range of luxury Christmas hampers are available to order now and include many of the specialist products used every day in the award-winning restaurant kitchens. The produce is either home-made or sourced from local artisan suppliers in and around the North East and is all specified to Blackfriars exacting standards.

The ‘Food lovers hamper’ costs £130 and includes items such as Bottle Benson's Farm-Pressed Apple & Cinnamon Juice, Blackfriars decadent range of condiments, home-made Belgium Chocolates, Heatherslaw's Cornhill-on-Tweed Shortbread and a £10 Blackfriars Restaurant Voucher. The Luxury hamper costs £165 includes the same contents but with the added bonus of a bottle of decadent Duval-Leroy Brut Champagne and a selection of Blackfriars finest wine and bitter.

Blackfriars Gift Vouchers

Blackfriars gift vouchers offer an alternative Christmas gift and can be redeemed at any Blackfriars event or chosen according to the package. The Posh Lunch voucher includes a Kir Royal on arrival followed by a three course meal from the lunch menu, a glass of wine and coffee. Alternatively, The Ultimate Gift Voucher offers two guests a three course à la carte meal, a bottle of wine on arrival, a bottle of house wine with the meal, chocolates and coffee.

Blackfriars’ Christmas gift vouchers are available all year – the Medieval Banquet voucher is £79, the Posh Lunch voucher is £45 and The Ultimate Luxury voucher is £100. General vouchers are available in denominations of £10.

Christmas Menu

The Christmas menu will be available from 3 December and includes dishes such as chestnut and stilton tart with cranberries and traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings followed by a honeycomb with vanilla pod ice cream and coffee served with mini mince pies. All items on the menu are prepared using fresh local produce, and simple, honest and traditional techniques to create gutsy modern-British cuisine. Blackfriars Restaurant is taking bookings for Christmas parties now.
