Blackfriars has now re-opened!
After a two week refurbishment the restaurant is looking better than ever – you wouldn’t think it had been in use since the 13th Century?! Complete with solid oak floor, exposed beams, new lighting and toilets, we’ve used materials in-keeping with its history to create a whole new feel.
Why not book your table to come and take a look for yourself?
P.S Thanks to those of you who piped up with suggestions of music. Ideas ranged from air guitar to Roxette but the overall winner is for us to continue supporting North East folk bands such as Lindisfarne, Jack the Lad and Kate Rusby – that’s one in the eye for Guardian food critic Jay Rayner who critiscised our overt playing of Lindsifarne! |

Although the restaurant has a new look, we like to think of the front of house team as part of the fixtures and fittings, the shiny ones that is!
At the helm is ex-Navy Steward, Liam MacDonald as restaurant manager - he runs a tight ship and ensures the waiting-on team serve customers with military precision.
By his side is assistant manager and events planner extraordinaire, Marlena Redestowicz - she’s very organised and loves a good wedding!
