Parlour Bar

Blackfriars’ Parlour Bar was the original Parlour for the Dominican Friars used to welcome guests. For the last 18 years it was a gift shop called Pheonix Antiques and in 2017 we took over occupancy of the Parlour. It’s now used for pre and post meals and is open throughout the day and evening serving bar snacks, including our famous Parlour Plank and coffee, tea, wine, cocktails and beer from 11am-midnight.

The Parlour Plank – £13pp
Fancy a quick bite to eat? Come and try our ‘Parlour Plank’ consisting of slow-cooked ham, charcuterie, cheese, pickles and freshly made sourdough bread. It’s available from Monday to Saturday 12-10pm in the bar – ideal for a break from the office, low-key business meetings and showing visitors around the city! A fish option is available (£16).

Enjoy a cockatail in the bar and take advantage of our 2 for £15 offer 12-7pm Monday – Friday. No need to eat in the restaurant, although you might be tempted when you see our menus!

You can enjoy homemade sandwiches and pastries, freshly made scones and cakes along with a cup of tea or glass of fizz either in our Cloister Garden, Parlour Bar or restaurant.
Available on Fridays and Saturdays between 2.45-4.30pm and you can see the menu below.

Blackfriars closes on most bank holidays including Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, Easter Monday, May and August bank holidays but is open Good Friday.
