The law states that everyone should have equal access to product and services in the UK. Blackfriars aims to provide access to people of all abilities as far as is practicable and possible. Blackfriars is a Grade I Listed Building and a Scheduled Ancient Monument which prevents structural work being carried out.
There is a ten place car park next to the restaurant plus metered roadside parking on Friars Street and Bath Lane. Friars street is a cobbled road and care should be taken when walking on it.
LOWER DINING AREA
There is access from street level through a set of double doors 1280mm wide. There are four 200mm high internal steps up to toilet. There is plenty of room for wheelchairs to manoeuvre; no fixed tables or chairs.
UPPER DINING AREA
There are two 180mm high internal steps in from street level. The internal entrance door is 780mm wide.
The internal toilet doors are 600mm wide and are not fitted out for disabled access.
1st FLOOR MEETING ROOMS
There are three external concrete steps up to the entrance door which is 800mm wide. There is a small winding staircase to the Meeting Rooms. The toilets have 600mm wide internal doors and are not suitable for disabled access
The Dining Room areas are candle lit though torches or a member of staff to read the menu can be supplied on request. The Meeting Rooms are brighter. Large font menus and printed material supplied upon request. Blind dogs are welcome - water and stroking supplied!
