Established in 1239 as a Dominican friary, Blackfriars’ rich heritage is the cornerstone of Newcastle’s historic past. Today, Blackfriars is one of the city’s most recognised restaurants and was voted the Taste of England Award in the North East England Tourism Awards 2013.
